How Each Cardinals QB Performed vs Chiefs

The Arizona Cardinals once again used three different quarterbacks in their preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Here's how they each looked.

The Arizona Cardinals were straight-up served by the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night in a 38-10 blowout loss. Even in the preseason, this was difficult to watch.

We once again saw a rotation of three quarterbacks for the Cardinals with Colt McCoy earning first-team reps, Clayton Tune eating up a good portion of snaps and David Blough playing clean-up with Jeff Driskel not dressed.

The results were meddling, to say the least.

Let's take a look at how each signal-caller looked against KC.

Colt McCoy

Colt McCoy

Stats: 5 completions on 8 attempts for 25 yards, one rush for six yards.

McCoy took the field on the first three drives of the game for the Cardinals with the starting offense.

Mostly, he looked pretty much like what we've come to expect out of McCoy. The 14-year vet kept most of his attempts short to intermediate on the field and didn't try to challenge the defense too much. Again, pretty much what we're accustomed to seeing.

The offense was pretty stagnant with McCoy under center, so perhaps this wasn't his best outing.

Clayton Tune

Clayton Tune

Stats: 12 completions on 24 attempts for 133 yards, six rushes for 35 yards.

Tune is such a fun story and idea in practice, but we've yet to see anything materialize through two preseason games. Like McCoy, Tune rarely challenged the defense deep, but he was more aggressive than the former, even if it wasn't by much. Tune also showed off some nifty scrambling ability to not only beat you with his legs but also the ability to make off-schedule plays.

The bright side is the offense is more fun when he's on the field. The unfortunate aspect is there is still a lot of bad play. Overall, Tune makes the offense somewhat watchable.

David Blough

David Blough

Stats: 3 completions on 4 attempts for 31 yards. Sacked twice

Blough came in for the final drive of the game when it was well over and done with. Naturally, it was a very forgettable performance, although Blough did technically have the best passer rating of the group by a wide margin.

Maybe Blough can earn some more reps in the preseason finale, but he wasn't given many opportunities against the Chiefs.
