Two-Round Cardinals Mock Draft

The Arizona Cardinals snag three instant starters in this two-round mock draft.

ARIZONA -- We are in the thick of the 2024 NFL Draft cycle, and the Arizona Cardinals have been working diligently to get homework done and draft boards started.

For us here at All Cardinals, we've been in draft season and have been finding players who fit needs and everything in between for this team.

Monti Ossenfort and Jonathan Gannon knocked their first draft together out of the park and will need to do the same this offseason to get closer to being a playoff team.

Thankfully, the Cardinals have no shortage of picks and can get several picks of the litter to make their team better.

Today, we're only looking at the first two rounds, where the team has three picks inside the top 35, including the Houston Texans' pick at 27.

That's what you call great capital.

Here's how these three picks worked out on some mock draft simulators...

4. Marvin Harrison Jr., Wide Receiver, Ohio State

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (18) celebrates with offensive lineman Carson Hinzman (75) after scoring touchdown against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights during the second half at SHI Stadium.

Sometimes a pick just makes too much sense and that's the feeling I get when I slot Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Cardinals.

It fits a need, upgrades a position, the talent matches the draft spot... everything just falls together.

The Cardinals have a dire need for a top-end number one receiver and Harrison Jr. fits that need perfectly. His elite size and speed as an athlete match his prowess as a route runner to effectively separate at the next level. You can also throw the ball anywhere in his general ZIP Code and he's likely going to come down with it every time.

Wide receiver has been a need for the Cardinals for a few seasons now and the team has tried trading for guys like DeAndre Hopkins and Marquise Brown to fill that void.

This time around, the Cards can go younger and cheaper and take an elite - if not generational talent.

27. Kamari Lassiter, Cornerback, Georgia

Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Kamari Lassiter (3) against the UAB Blazers in the second half at Sanford Stadium.

As of now, the Cardinals are likely to be calling you off your couch soon to play cornerback for this team.

In all seriousness, there is a major lack of a true number-one corner on this team and the Cardinals moved on from Marco Wilson during the season because of how dreadful he was.

There is a strong case to be made that corner is the top need for Arizona in this draft, but they can get a very quality player later in the first round rather than trying to reach for a guy early.

Lassiter is a long cover man who got progressively better as the season went on at Georgia. Lassiter is someone I've flirted with before and he's steadily climbed the draft board in a class without a true top guy at the position.

Plugging Lassiter into this secondary will go a big way in getting this defense back on track in the secondary.

35. Byron Murphy II, Interior Defensive Line, Texas

Texas Longhorns defensive lineman Byron Murphy II (90) celebrates sacking the Iowa State Cyclones quarterback during the game at Jack Trice Stadium.

Perhaps no defensive lineman has seen his stock skyrocket quite like Murphy II has seen, to the point where he could not only be off the board by Pick 35 but very may well be the first interior defensive lineman drafted.

Murphy II aged finely at Texas and had a breakout season for a Longhorns team that went to the College Football Playoff. While the team's offense was potent, the defense was outstanding and Murphy II, who was the Big-12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and a First-Team All-Conference player was at the literal forefront of the success.

The Cardinals have bodies along the defensive line but lack an ass-kicker like Murphy II. With his addition, Arizona has added three new high-upside starters to their team who can all become cornerstones down the road.

With Murphy II, the team finally gets more aggressive at the point of attack.
