The Arizona Cardinals have signed the talents of inside linebacker Krys Barnes on a one-year contract, according to the team on Saturday. He played the last three seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers signed Barnes as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He played in 35 games and made 24 starts between the 2020 and 2022 seasons, posting 190 tackles, three sacks, nine tackles for loss and four passes defensed.

However, the 24-year-old Barnes missed 10 games last season due to an ankle injury. He played in just 141 defensive snaps and 25 special teams snaps over six games.

The 6-foot-2 linebacker started in three playoff games for Green Bay, recording 20 total tackles and one for a loss. He also has 230 special teams snaps in his career.

Arizona's signing of Barnes comes after the team's offseason additions in the linebacker room. They've added Kyzir White and Josh Woods, while also re-signing Ezekiel Turner.

The Cardinals have third-year pro Zaven Collins and Isaiah Simmons, who has yet to have a role defined by new defensive coordinator Nick Rallis.

Arizona also added defensive added L.J. Collier, a former 2019 first-round draft pick, to a one-year contract last week.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon's Cardinals will begin their offseason conditioning programs on April 11. They are set to be on the field with the new coaching staff on April 25.
