Chargers Land Arguably Best Player in NFL Draft From Fresh Mock

The Bolts pick up possibly the most explosive offensive weapon in the latest mock draft.

The NFL Scouting Combine is winding down, and soon enough, teams will get back in the lab and discuss what they'll do with their draft picks.

It won't be easy, as this year's draft has a ton of talent. At the moment, it seems like teams, especially the Los Angeles Chargers, can't go wrong with who they'll be selecting with their number five pick. Many pundits and experts believe it's where the draft will start, and that may be the case.

Vinnie Iyer of The Sporting News states that the Chargers will select Georgia star tight end Brock Bowers in his latest mock draft.

The Chargers should have receivers on their mind at the combine as they consider cutting Mike Williams and realize Keenan Allen and Gerald Everett don't have much left in the tank. Replacing Everett with Bowers makes a lot of sense for the revamped offense, as Bowers can be the new Mark Andrews under OC Greg Roman.

The top four of the NFL draft are a bit predictable, with Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye and Marvin Harrison Jr. going in the top four in some order.

The number five spot, which the Chargers hold, is a bit trickier. Some mock drafts have the Bolts going and drafting a wide receiver, an offensive lineman, or Bowers. Those seem to be the top options for the Bolts; nonetheless, Bowers would be a fine addition.

The 21-year-old could be the second-best weapon on offense with a newly revamped coaching staff. He possesses all the skills to be great at the pro level.

He is a prolific pass-catching tight end with a rare blend of acceleration, speed, body control and hands. Bowers can do anything that is needed of him, whether that's in the passing or running game.

This elite offensive weapon would help the Bolts out immediately and be a compliment to Justin Herbert on day one.
