Packer-Turned-Charger Retiring With Green Bay Ahead Of Bolts Contest

The Super Bowl champion is calling it quits

Former Los Angeles Charger offensive tackle and longtime Green Bay Packer Bryan Bulaga has retired from football ahead of Week 11 as his two former teams prepare to face each other on Sunday.

The former Iowa Hawkeye spent 11 years in the league, nine with the Packers and his last two with the Bolts. In his time with the Chargers, he only played in 11 games, 490 offensive snaps, and was available for 59% of the snaps in 2020 and 56% of the snaps in 2021. The former Bolt was impressive in his tenure regarding his lack of penalties. Bulaga was only called for one penalty as a Bolt, which happened to be a holding penalty in his first and only game of 2021.

He last played in the league with the Bolts in 2021. The former 2010 first-round pick primarily played right tackle and started 122 career games. Injuries slowed the 34-year-old tackle throughout various points in his career. he tore his ACL twice, and a significant core injury kept him out for the Bolts in 2021.

While Bulaga didn't achieve any individual accolades, he was beloved in Green Bay and earned over $63 million in his 12 years in the NFL.

We wish the former Super Bowl champion the best in his retirement and thank him for his time in Los Angeles.
